JOHNNIE WALKER
Concept / Experiential / art direction

To launch the Rare Side of Scotland edition, Johnnie Walker Blue took over the Selfridges rooftop for its first-ever winter terrace experience. The goal: create a brand space that captured both luxury and the spirit of Johnnie Walker. After scouting the location, I proposed to create traditional Scottish bothies, small wooden shelters typically found in remote landscapes to give visitors a sense of escape and warmth, but with a twist, we elevated the idea into something luxurious.
The concept balanced authenticity with comfort, offering guests a beautiful retreat from the cold while staying true to the whisky’s roots and the rugged beauty of the Highlands.
With the rooftop space in mind, I led the full experience design from structure layout to spatial flow. Lighting, texture, and planting were carefully considered to elevate the atmosphere while reinforcing the Blue Label identity. It was important to keep the build immersive yet premium, down to the smallest details.
The concept proved successful, the event was extended due to high demand, and the client was thrilled with both the response and execution.
